Abuse statement - Posting issues and reminders - 06-03-07 12:21 - brian [Announcement]

Can all users please refrain from any activity which may result in posting an issue or reminder to ALL users. Any such activity will be deemed abuse and your issue/ actions deleted and account most likely disabled.

Mantis is an excellent issue tracking tool that is also very powerful and whilst we have endeavoured to configure it as robustly as possible there may be scenarios that we have not foreseen/ covered. Equally we realise that it may be a lack of knowledge or experience leading to misuse rather than intentional abuse but the overiding policy is against inappropriate posting which effectively creates 'spam'.

This announcement relates to a recent misuse/ abuse of mantis (0009160: Swift Mailer Implementation - More efficient & featured PHPMailer replacement) and as such is in effect is both an apology if it has caused any confusion and a warning that future misuse/ abuse will be acted upon.

If a note has had its 'Status' changed to 'Feedback' this almost always means _we_ are now waiting for feedback from you re: this particular note. As such we have in effect stopped working on this note. So to get it going again you need to reply/ update the note.

Hi everyone

It is very important when detailing a note to provide as much information as possible. Apart from the obvious description detail(s) other info that would help with every note include:

o. your browser version (maybe even your operating system)
o. any relevant URLs (front and back-end)

Also the occurance of the note - i.e. it happens everytime, randomly or for a fixed number of times.

For example if you are getting logged out from the system do you log-in, get thrown out, log back in and then it is okay or do you KEEP getting logged out continuously during your session or even randomly during your session.
